Aston Martin DBX S Revealed with 717bhp Performance Powerhouse

Aston Martin has taken the wraps off the new DBX S, the most powerful and dynamic version yet of its flagship SUV. Positioned as the new range-topping variant, the DBX S builds upon the regular DBX with more power, less weight, and sharper styling. Drawing key inspiration and components from Aston Martin’s upcoming Valhalla supercar, the DBX S is a blend of SUV practicality and supercar-level performance.

Performance

Under the hood lies an upgraded version of the brand’s trusted 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Thanks to a larger compressor wheel and other enhancements derived from the Valhalla, the DBX S now produces 717bhp—20bhp more than before. Torque figures haven’t been specified, but the bump in power results in improved performance all around.

Aston Martin claims that the DBX S can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.3 seconds. Even more impressively, the 0 to 200kmph time has been cut down by 0.3 seconds. These figures firmly place the DBX S in the elite league of performance SUVs.

Lightweight Upgrades

To complement the power increase, Aston Martin has taken steps to shave weight off the DBX S. The most notable change is the optional carbon fibre roof with a single-weave pattern. In addition to the aesthetic appeal, this new roof eliminates the roof rails, collectively cutting down 18kg from the kerb weight.

But the bigger talking point is the introduction of magnesium wheels—offered for the first time on any SUV. Magnesium is significantly lighter than traditional wheel materials, weighing roughly half as much as titanium and around one-third less than aluminium. This reduction in unsprung mass should enhance handling and ride comfort, especially when cornering or braking hard.

Design

Visually, the DBX S carries a more aggressive and purposeful look compared to the standard DBX. While full design details are yet to be revealed, expect new bumpers, blacked-out trim, sportier alloy wheels, and bespoke badging to distinguish it from its siblings. The carbon fibre roof further adds to its sporty intent, hinting at the performance that lies beneath.

Market Launch

The DBX S has been launched in select European markets and is expected to make its way to customers by Q4 2025. No official word yet on availability in other regions, but given Aston Martin’s global footprint and the rising popularity of performance SUVs, a wider rollout is likely to follow.
